Went to the Crowded House concert at the Tabernacle last night. Enjoy: blurry phone pics. A few things . . .Firstly, Liam Finn opened . . . according to a misinformed man next to me, he was a roadie. But truthfully, he was Neil's eldest son. He sounded like a Finn, even though he didn't look like Neil. He used a looping effects pedal- trust me, I didn't know what it was until I checked out his site - he was a one man band, it was amazing!!!!! He played guitar, recorded, sang, drums, etc. Awesome!
Next was Pete Yorn, again, the chatty man was here to listen to him, not CH. He's hot!!! (Pete Yorn, not the chatty man!) (imagine Paris Hilton voice). listen: click here- and there are many more:

So you know what's pretty cool about the last video - it's all done on one take - meaning no editing - just one continuous camera shot. Makes you wonder how many times they had to do that song over and over until they got it right. By the way, notice how the piano player shows up in 2 places - he must have run behind the set to get to the band area at the end. Cool video, hard to do, and these kinds of long continuous shots are akin to a Robert Altman movie. LOVE IT!
Keep on rocking in the free world. One of the true great legacies and priviliges of our generation--good music.
